Scrapbook Collage & Color Inspiration
This is a painted collage I have in progress called Little One. I first painted the background surface. Then the canvas has vintage images of birds and flowers from scrap book papers which I have painted over in parts after gluing them down. I also used a little gold leaf in the inside of the flowers. I painted the stem the bird is on and the leaf. I stamped here and there. I also used some spray ink for a vintage feel. I am not sure that I am completely done. I am considering coll-aging images to the sides. I know four people having babies and I am trying to put together some crafty gifts. This is done on a 6x6 canvas. Honestly this is a project anyone can do. Finding images at craft stores on paper or card stock is so easy these days. One of my favorites K & Company has come out with a whole line of nature inspired goodies in their Flora & Fauna Collection. You know they had me once I saw their bird nests. More baby love for Little One's coming soon. I am inspired to find some fabrics in this palette chart I made shown above to make some burping cloths.
Do you enjoy hand crafting gifts for baby showers? What is your favorite thing to make?

Triple Lemon Blueberry Cake
Here is a super delicious looking Triple Lemon Blueberry cake! It may be too soon to think Easter but spring and my birthday are right around the corner. Lemon is one of my favorite cakes in the spring it is always so refreshing. Well to get your hands on this sweet lemony recipe just hop on over to Sweetapolita.
If I hadn't of come down with a cold this is what I would be baking right this minute! If you try it before me let me know how you liked the recipe.
Well speaking of lemons I just love this photograph. It has me wanting to plant a lemon tree only problem is it gets too cold in the winter. Just enough for an occasional snow to fall but not stay on the ground and the cold lasts long enough to freeze a lemon tree. If I lived west of here I would be outside planting that tree right now! Could that be lemon jelly in the jars? Lemon Love!
Since Lemons and Spring are synonymous to me I had to share I am loving yellow for color inspiration right now! Plus it is a cheery color and I could use a little of that right now.
But my all time favorite yellow is buttercup yellow. A shade lighter than these dreamy looking flower heads.
If you haven't visited my other blog lately it has a face lift. So I hope you can pop over for a visit I have photographs I have been altering while learning Photo Shop and a collage from the beach posted over there. I promise to share some beach photos here real soon too. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and week ahead. What is your favorite lemon cake recipe? What is your favorite shade of yellow? I would love to know~

Simple Spring Sewing " Color Pallets"

As soon as I am better I am going to do a little spring sewing. So I am in search of spring pallets to use in my material choices. Do you ever wonder about matching up colors? There is a wonderful website just for color inspiration and trying out color pallets. If you create any quilts, sewing projects, crafts or just need inspiration you might like to visit my page Colourlovers.com.
(main link at image) I had never made anything there until today, as I am still on the mend yet trying to get some creativity in. I will have more posts coming on "Simple Sewing Projects."
Do you have any tips to making fabric choices simple? from colors to patterns? How do you match your threads? Lighter or darker when sewing? I would love to hear from you~

Pink Flowers in Spring
Glorious pink flowers are blooming. I am hoping to get a chance to visit some local botanical gardens and take some more photographs of flowers. I am in love with spring, my camera and flowers. I guess I will have to tell my hubby, but I think he already knows! This is my color inspiration for today~ What are you in love with this spring? What colors inspire your creativity?

Spring Time Dreams
1. Butterfly portrait, 2. Pink and Green, 3. 和谐 - symbiosis, 4. Dare Digital: Girl with Fairies
I rested my head for a moment for thoughts had been whirling around and around. They weren't stopping, I just wanted a little peace like when I was a child. I closed my eyes dream pt of butterflies and fairies~ They just carried my thoughts away and I felt at peace and when I awoke I was refreshed and filled only of images of pink, yellow and green ~ Now I am inspired to create again. Do you ever have one of those days when you think too much?
There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again. ~Elizabeth Lawrence

Feeling Blue Today

Retro, edgy, having depth and stability blue is linked to consciousness and intellect and suggests precision. The color of the sea and sky makes me just want to take a drive to the ocean and soak in blue with all its vastness. I wouldn't mind taking the retro rv for the drive!

Color Inspiration

The color for 201o is turquoise and Pantone has a press release article about it~
I have to say it has always been one of my favorite colors in its many variations. As a child I had painted my room turquoise, yes I did and how lovely of my mother to let me do it. It was bold it was beatiful and invigerating. Today in my living room there is a architechural jet of a triangle. What to do with it? That was easy for me I had already painted my living room currant red on three walls and a soft off white on the other and ceiling and of course I choose turquoise for the trianglular shape. Who knew I was ahead of my time. Or was I? I did a little looking around and found it was quite popular even before when I loved it as a child. I love it just as much now!!
What is your favorite turquiose color combination? Well right now I know is mine currant red and turquoise. Do let me know what you are loving about 2010's color of the year!! I would love to know your thoughts!! Have you used it in your fashion choices? Decor? Or even in your crafty pieces of artwork?

Marie Antoinette

1. MARIE ANTOINETTE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT, 2. Marie Can Can, 3. ATC - Marie Antoinette, Red, 4. flower girl, 5. Bernard Tartinville (photographer) Antoinette fashion, 6. Marie Antoinette (2006), 7. Door lock and knob, Petit Trianon, Versailles, 8. Untitled, 9. Marie Antoinette : Laduree Just click on any image to enlarge view
When it comes to color, fashion and design inspiration that exudes youth, elegance, femininity and wealth I always come back to Marie Antoinette. Her history is so interesting. I could find myself dreaming away the day just imagining being in a summer garden lounging under a parasol listening to nature. Her life from lavish turned to turbulence and then execution yet despite her history we take away the most inspiring images and thoughts.
To find more about Marie Antoinette's history I have placed a link for you, but you will find her legacy everywhere if you dare to look at the other side of her life~
