Wedding Flowers & Flower Photography

Dearest blogging friends, I hope this finds you well. I have been so busy and not meaning to take such a long break but, I have had things that have needed my attention. A dry run for the wedding flowers was done, I spent some time with Sammie on spring break and then I set to organizing around here. As I mentioned before I have my eldest daughter's wedding coming up this month. Check lists are getting done, new items and projects being added. So my artwork has been set to the side for the moment, yet I am managing to stay creative in helping with the wedding. I managed to take some flower photographs of some of our wedding choices.

Today I did take the time to alter some of photographs that I took of the wedding flowers we are choosing for the table top arrangements and played with them giving them some textures and such, but ever so lightly so you could see the beauty of these flowers. Top of the list are the beautiful blooms that May has to offer. Lilacs on their stems, Ranuculus, Gerbena and Vintage Roses. The wedding flower pallet that Laura chose is a soft pastels, with lavenders, peaches and pinks.

Although you can get Ranunculus in May you have to get them three days ahead to let them open and their heads are smaller, but they are such a beautiful flower, it will be well worth the extra care. The Gerbena Daisy is so beautiful with its big head I would love to grow some to take photographs of as they are simple beauties. I didn't know they are a member of the sunflower family until I was reading about them. Did you know that fact? Then the true wedding flower hits that we chose were the vintage roses in a blush and the Lilacs on their stems. The smell of these beauties is soft, fragrant and colors are a beautiful. They all lasted well over a week with changing the water and feeding them.

More wedding flower prettiness to come and crafty goodness later this week, but wanted to let you know what I am up to.
What are your favorite May or wedding flowers? What projects are you working on? I'd love to know~

Leopard print
is back and better than ever~ Oh, but if you prefer you can find some retro Leopard print too! You can find Leopard print just about everywhere right now! If you have anything Leopard you should never get rid of it! It will come in style again and again. Whether you wear it in your hair, as makeup, carry your little bag, jump into your sassy pumps to rain boots or down to your toes with socks, it will rein again! And again!
One reason why is Leopard print has always been a fabric or back then fur associated with status, but only becoming popular in the 1960's in America. Does that ring a bell for anyone?

Well all I know is that I love, love, love it and so do my girls! My favorite fall leopard item this year is this pair of rain boots by Chloe~ I can see myself in the outfit hiking over to pick up Sammie from school on any rainy day. But wait if that doesn't suit you just follow this fashion link to Leopard Print Fashions 2010 a mere 4million images to choose from! And if you think this Leopard stops at this post~ U mm, think again I might have some crafty and decoration inspiration coming to you soon via Leopard print! Favorite Past Times

When you were young do you remember playing in the yard while your mom or grandmother hung out the clothes? I do! There is no favorite past time that I enjoy more as far as household chores~ I have always used warm spring or summer days to hang out some or all of our laundry. I enjoy when the kids are running under foot or playing in the sprinklers as you are getting fresh air and housework done at the same time. Did I ever want to be a pioneer woman? No!! I love my wonderful and modern washer & dryer that conserves energy, but why not use solar power for drying and get some fresh air once in awhile and save on that gas or electric bill while helping mother earth! I am a modern woman loving the wind breezing through my hair while reminiscing of times long ago and having my own children under foot~

Sweet Memories That Nature Inspires

The smell of a beautiful flower, or the sight of a bloom just after the rain, the feel of wind on your face at the beach or the sand on your finger tips and the Earth's treasures you find~

Fashion Choices~
The perfect shoes~

Contemplating the veil~

Romance can lead to love~ Then when it is time for the commitment everyone dreams of the romantic wedding day~ Finding the perfect dress, veil and shoes. Creating memories to last a life time. Fashion has played a major part in ceremonies of the heart. Now in my own family my second youngest daughter is about to pledge her love this summer. I can't wait to share more fashion, design and wedding posts inspired by romantic love~
