Paper Crafting Inspiration

Today I thought I would share some paper crafting inspiration. Sometimes you come across things that just make you want to create with paper. Often I don't have the time or patience to paper craft, but alas it is something I want to try more of because the more you do something the easier it gets! Right?

Well Michelle Wooderson made these little button cards that were paper crafted, it was love at first sight. I have always wondered what to do with my grandma's vintage buttons that sit in a jar or little box only to look at once in awhile. Now I am inspired to make button cards and put them in a display to hang on the wall!
To see where Michelle got her inspiration and to take a peek at her lovely blog just visit her at Mish Mash. She has all the details of which rubber stamps she used to help make this card from a website called papertreyink.com.

Mores button cards I am  inspired by!

Look at this card made with little buttons. I was inspired by this paper crafted card at first sight! I am so temped to make a card for my daughter who is getting married. I am sure to find what I need from Emma's Paperie. Have you ever shopped online at Emma's Paperie? Well I have and I was swept away with lovely things from here. I have blogged about a designer for them before and also shared a teacher's box I made with supplies from Emma's Paperie

These paper craft goodies are designed by Melissa Phillips via her blog LilyBean's Paperie  and has me knowing I am in love with the idea of making these button cards!

Swoon!

Well dear friends, I hope this has you inspired to do some paper crafting! Have you ever made any cards or displays with your vintage buttons? I'd love to know~

Birthday Book and Felt Gifts

Hello Dear Readers, Just a quick post today of some little gifts I have been sewing for my three year old granddaughter Audrey. This is a felt and fabric with ribbon necklace and a wrist cuff out of felt.  I attached the cuff to the necklace and added the little cupie doll gift tag.

This is the cover of the birthday book in felt with papers and lace.

This is the first page I added the little deer, she doesn't read yet and loves animals. The birthday book was inspired from the previous post. I  made it quickly with scraps of felt, paper and lace. It was very easy.

In this strip of photos you can see some of the other pages. I created a painted page and scanned and cut out the cupcake image and heart with flowers. On the last image I left a spot to write a little note to my dear little one. I also included a photograph of her in her gym class. She will be three. Hard to believe Audrey and my daughter Sammie are only six years apart. It makes for much fun when we all get together!

Sammie has a science fair tonight and I have been busy with other things. Today I shared some photography on my other blog. You are welcome to see it and use it according to the terms posted on my blog. Just pop over to MsartistTheresaHuse.blogspot if you'd like. I also have some color inspiration I shared there today!

What crafting have you been doing lately?

Cloth & Felt Birthday Lovin

Hello Dear Readers, I have to admit it almost feels like I am all over the place with inspiration. "sigh"
What can I say. If I see something I think might interest you I share it. I never get bored looking at inspiration and the last few weeks I have gotten caught up on just that! I promise to share some of my own goodies soon! But in the mean time this is a project an Italian blogger made. A little house of felt and a birthday card from fabric and felt.

Covered fabric buttons, fabric and felt birthday card, pure goodness all wrapped up and given to some lucky girl! No tutorial for this just inspiration, but she does have tutorials on her blog. The link is shared above.

Now I still have a little girl at home and a lovely grand baby by my second youngest daughter and I am really wanting to make them cloth birthday cards and a felt something to go with their gifts. Luckily I have until April for Audrey and May for my Sammie! Shh h, don't let the cat out of the bag!
Have you ever made a cloth birthday card? Is this something you would want to try? If I make one of my own designs would you like a tutorial? or pattern? Do tell~

Knitting Love

Hello friends,

Here Megan makes knitting look easy with this tutorial.

It is images like this that make me want to knit.
I would wear fingerless gloves even when I paint, but I would have to dedicate them to that as they would get paint on them.

Irish Rose

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Celebrating here with this free Irish Rose Pattern

Source: ravelry.com  on Pinterest

Hi there readers, I hope this finds you having a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!! I posted some photography on my other blog today "Green" and "Irish" pop over when your done if you like. But what I wanted to share with you today here is this Irish Rose pattern. It is a free Irish rose crochet pattern found via Raverly but is at Lionbrand.com. I want to relearn how to crochet and knit. I came across these two fabulous sites so if you are interested these are great sites to check out.

Raverly does require you to sign up but it is free and fast! Then you have access to forums, patterns, groups, shops, have your own notebook and more! I am just checking it out myself, but one think I like right away is the ease of the site. You have a search, so maybe if you have a stitch your interested in finding you can look it up * lots of images, links and how easy or hard a pattern is. This is going to be a big time and money saver for learning!!

Lionbrand.com has information for yarns, patterns, learning, community, and shop. They have both knitting and crochet information.  I have come across this site LB one other time but really haven't investigated it much. I am excited about this! Do you crochet or knit? Are you a beginner or veteran?

I am so happy about finding these two sites I could do a jig!

Pillow Case Dress Tutorial

Hello friends and sewers. Here is this sweet little girls dress made from a pillow case! Vanessa has a tutorial over on her blog. * link above Please see comments to her tutorial for some things Vanessa clarifies for her readers. Really she shows you step by step and what materials are needed and the how to. This is a great beginner sewing project! So if you have a little girl or are going to baby showers like me or even have a grand baby this is one easy project  to try. There is a printable pattern over on her site on the post too.

I have to say sorry for not posting that much this week, really on both blogs. I have had a series of migraines an not feeling well all week long. Today is the first day I feel somewhat fine. I have recipes and other crafty links to share but it probably won't be until next week. I hope this find you all well and having the time to craft, sew or have some creative fun! Its certainly looking a lot like spring in our neighborhood with all the rains now blowing east of us. I thought I would share some photographs from around the neighborhood and the beach ones I promised in case you don't read my other blog. I wanted to make sure you got a chance to see them.

Home Made Lotions, Bath Salts and Spa Goodness

When you live in a dry climate you can always use a great moisturizer! And even if you don't live where there is a dry climate it is almost that time of year to be needing some with spring and summer on its way. How great would it be to make some of your own?  Well thanks to Lousia Shafia and her tutorial on Ready Made you can! Honestly I am going to try this! How about you?

Oh, if you think you are interested in creating other spa products from home here are a few recipes for bath salts, scrubs and sachets  in a post I did earlier.

I have always wanted to make my own soaps. What is it about the texture and look of organic home made soap. When you go to purchase a bar at +5. or more dollars I am so tempted to make some of my own and since having sensitive skin you can choose what is really in the soap. Below is a link to a post at Martha Stewart under her image and whats coming next.

When shopping a thrift store recently I came across a perfectly crafty how to make soap book. So after I read through it I hope to try some recipes and give you my thoughts. I will take photos of it too and share the details in another post. Until then you might like this site All Natural Beauty they have a whole page of recipes to pick through! PS. these  make great gifts!!  And up coming a post about making your own bath oils too~

Have you ever made your own soap? Cosmetics? or Spa products? Is it something you would like to try?

Craft Round Up

Here's a little mid week craft round up for you! That has a little sewing, stamping, digital and just simple crafting goodness! I hope you enjoy these links to some awesome tutorials and products.

I came across this sweet sewing kit at Sew4Home with free tutorial and pattern. It has a kitty's face on the front. You have to see it for yourself because if you are teaching a child to sew, love kitties or just want to change the front but the interior design this tutorial is for you! I know I need one of these for the May wedding we have coming up in the family, just in case.

Stampers a new line of stamps! I am a big fan of Danita and she has come out with a line of stamps sold here. Honestly she is one crafty gal! I love all the cute inspired things she makes and sells. So if you are into stamping, making cards or just love to stamps to your artwork. You might like these. I can see making a card or two for my little grand daughter and asking when is she coming to grandma's house?

Now I do want to learn how to create digital designs, scrapbooks and continue my altered art. So when I read that one of my favorite design teams Holliewood Studios has a free download in the new Somerset Digital Studio Magazine just one more reason grab the magazine and  flip through some pages. But better yet, just preview the Magazine right here! & you might want to order it too. If you want to see what goodies come in the kit just pop on over to Deviant Scrap. You will see the 22 images in the kit and be able to see them full size! Did I just go to digital heaven?

When I saw this I thought what a simple project for spring and summer outdoor dining. This bandanna table runner tutorial. Is great for beginner sewers and I can see using other bandannas for reusable napkins too. I just did a google search and you can purchase bandannas for $7.99 per dozen at Oriental Trading Co and another supplier is Tan's Club. Imagine what you can find if you really look. I can also see going to my local Pier One Imports or Cost Plus Imports and finding pretty napkins to use. This is going on my spring to do list. I promise to share when I do it.
What is on your spring crafting to do list? Do Tell~  It definitely isn't cleaning out the closets yet for me!
